Brazil's star Formula One pilot Felipe Massa announced Thursday his return to the race track after two months recovery from a crash accident.
He declared that he will participate in the International Challenge of the Stars, a traditional race kart competition that will be held in the southern Brazilian city of Florianopolis from November 27 to 29.
The event will mark Massa's return to the racing world after suffering a violent accident during the Grand Prix in Hungary on the 25th of July.
"I am going to participate in the International Challenge of the Stars, " said Massa.
"It is one of the most popular events that takes place during the end of the year. Every pilot looks forward to participating in the event. Everyone who enters has their eyes on the trophy. All horseplay remains off the track as the race it taken very seriously," he added.
Apart from Massa, Michael Schumacher, Rubens Barrichello and Alexandre Barros are already signed up for the event.
After his recuperation, rehabilitation and consequent plastic surgery that Massa endured after his frightening crash, the Brazilian driver is expected to return to the Ferrari team and continue his driving career during the 2010 season.
