Admission Fare Increase for Public Sites Capped
Adjust font size:

Ticket price increase in scenic areas and popular tourist attractions will be capped, according to the circular recently released by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).

Xinhua Net reports the circular rules that admission fares in the government-run parks and scenery spots should not increase by more than 35 percent from the current price.

The public opinion should also be considered in fixing the admission fares, according to NDRC, the national development planner and price watchdog.

It also says the cost of admission to city parks, museums, memorials and patriotic educational exhibitions should stay low or even be free.

The circular also requires the public be informed of all planned increases in admission fares two months' before they become effective.
