Actress Jennifer Aniston will direct a short film about breast cancer as part of Project Five anthology series, the cable television network Lifetime said on Tuesday.
The former Friends star will join singer Alicia Keys, Demi Moore and Monster's Patty Jenkins lending their directing talents to the project, which chronicles the impact of cancer on people's lives. The film's fifth director has yet to be announced.
Jennifer Aniston said that the purpose of this project is to entertain, inform and inspire dialogue, scientific research and cancer prevention. Otherwise, other purposes are insignificant.
The 42-year-old actress added that their desire is to inspire the people affected by breast cancer as they pass through this trial with dignity.
Project Five is the star's second foray into the directing world. In 2006, she went behind the lens for Room 10, starring Robin Wright and Kris Kristofferson.
