Love Beijing Set Your Dream Free
Introduction to the Event
In order to celebrate the 70th anniversary of our great country, understand the course of its struggle, and encourage children and adolescents to develop a sense of national pride and cohesion, the Museum will carry out a high-spirited and energetic reading activity called “Reading City” on June 6. Our little professional actors will present to you classic poems such as The Great Together, To Wang Lun, and Quiet Night Thought. In addition, some audience members with an appointment will be invited to sing My Motherland and Let Us Paddle a Boat and recite I am Proud of Being a Chinese and On the Young China.

Special Surprise
Big Brother Pengpeng, the children's favorite, will also attend and bring the lecture, “Listen to the Voice of Museum: Bring Respect to Museum,” and spend a different Children's Day at the Capital Museum with you.
What kind of place is a museum? As Big Brother Pengpeng puts it, “it's a place where each of us could learn for the rest of our lives.” Each cultural relic here carries the trace and temperature of people, which includes people who made it, people who used it, people who preserved it, and so on. Big Brother Pengpeng will help you feel the wonder of the museum by telling you stories of those cultural relics. Meanwhile, he will also offer some means and suggestions to parents, so that they may encourage children's interest in museums.
Big Brother Pengpeng (Zhang Peng) is an education promoter of the Youth Museum, a youth reading promoter, the founder of the Museum in the Ear, editor-in-chief of the magazine Trolltech Museum, executive director of the Guo Shoujing Memorial Hall in Beijing, member of the All-China Youth Federation, and member of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Youth Federation. His books include Imperial Palace–The Forbidden City for Children, Big Brother Pengpeng Talking About the Palace Museum, China in Museums–Ingenious vessels and Listening to Museums–Time Note of Pengpeng.
