A three-month theatre festival is set to open on Sept 16 in Tianjin, with a focus on providing top-notch cultural experiences for the local community and meeting the sophisticated cultural tastes of the residents.
The festival aims to deliver a high-end yet accessible theatrical extravaganza through exceptional performances and a wide range of cultural tourism activities.
Additionally, the annual Tianjin Marathon, a downtown event with 30,000 participants, is scheduled for Oct 20. Participants will have the opportunity to take part in the marathon and enjoy the drama afterward.
Featuring 84 productions and approximately 340 shows, the festival will cover a diverse range of theatrical genres including drama, dance, musicals, Peking Opera, Kunqu Opera, Hebei Bangzi, and traditional Chinese comic operas.
This varied program will highlight the creativity of original works, the talent of performing groups, and outstanding productions from across China and the world.
The second Tianjin University Student Theatre Festival will coincide with the main event.
The event's sponsor, the Bank of Tianjin, has announced a discount for Wenhui Card users—a card designed for purchasing tickets to artistic performances.
