According to figures collected by measurement company Comscore, the comic book film of Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios has grossed 90.05 million dollars in North America for a global cume of 317.1 million dollars through Sunday.
The finale of the Venom trilogy was directed by Kelly Marcel and starred Tom Hardy as Venom, one of Marvel's most complex characters.
Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Animation's animated film "The Wild Robot" came in second on its sixth weekend with 7.55 million dollars, pushing its North American cume to 121.5 million dollars for a worldwide total of 269.1 million dollars.
Paramount Pictures' horror film "Smile 2" landed in third on its third weekend with 6.8 million dollars for a North American total of 52.68 million dollars.
