Shi Shuqing (石舒清) was born in Haiquan, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in 1969 and is a professional writer with the Ningxia Writers Association.
Shi Shuqing, formerly named Tian Yumin, is of Hui ethnic ancestry. He was born in November 1969, in Haiquan, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. Shi graduated from the Guyuan Normal College with a major in English. He used to teach English and work for the publishing department in Guyuan City.
Shi is now one of the professional writers with the Ningxia Writers Association, a staff member of the Ningxia Museum of Culture and History and a member of the Chinese Writers' Association. His publications have featured in People's Literature magazine, October magazine, Youth Literature magazine, etc.
Nevertheless, the author mainly works on short novels. So far, he has published five novellas, among which "The bitter earth" and "The Power in darkness" won him the fifth and eighth Gallant Horse Award for Ethnic Literature. His short novel "The knife in the limpid water" won both the second Lu Xun Literary Award and the 11th Zhuang Zhongwen Literary Award.
