China State Construction Engineering Corporation(CSCEC)won six Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Awards in November. The awards are sponsored by the WSH Council with the support of the Ministry of Manpower of Singapore to recognize organizations and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to workplace safety and health.
The award presentation ceremony was held online this year. Josephine Teo, Singapore's minister for manpower, recorded a video to congratulate the winning companies.
This year, CSCEC won the WSH Performance (Sliver) Award once again. Three subway projects undertaken by CSCEC – the Cantonment Station project, the Canberra Station project, and the Tunnels for North East Line Extension project – received the Safety and Health Award Recognition for Projects (SHARP).
CSCEC's Bidadari C5-Woodleigh Village project also got the SHARP award with its excellent performance in workplace safety in 2019. This is the first time that the company has won this award.
In addition to the awards for the company and projects, Mohammad Hafiiz Bin Johari, safety manager of CSCEC's Cantonment Station project, was presented with the WSH Officer Award.
CSCEC will continue to carry out its responsibilities for safe production and implement the safe production accountability system at all levels. Adhering to the principle of ensuring the safety of all workers, the company will prioritize workplace health and safety and resume work and production in a steady and orderly manner.
