China's leading liquor producer Kweichow Moutai said its net profit rose by 9.08% year on year to 24.65 billion yuan (about 3.8 billion U.S. dollars) in the first half of 2021.
The company also said in its half-year financial report that it generated operating revenue of 50.72 billion yuan, an increase of 11.68% from the same period last year.
In 2020, the company's revenue rose 10.29% to nearly 98 billion yuan.
Distilled in the town of Maotai in southwest China's Guizhou Province, Moutai is one of the country's leading liquor brands.
