The Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area, colloquially known as Beijing E-Town, has accelerated the construction of a series of world-class intelligent manufacturing factories. The goal is to assume a leading role in the transformation and upgrading of the city's manufacturing sector.
Having built 16 smart factories and 15 digital workshops, Beijing E-Town now leads the city in the number of intelligent manufacturing facilities. It has provided solutions for smart industrial transformations to local high-tech companies like Hollysys.
Hollysys, a leading supplier of automation and IT solutions in China, has seen significant benefits from these intelligent renovations. After several years of upgrading its factories in Beijing E-Town, the company has reported a 50% increase in production efficiency, with its product testing assembly line now fully automated.
Not only a pioneer in smart factories, Beijing E-Town has also contributed to a third of the 285 national standards for intelligent manufacturing. Core products and innovative solutions created by Hollysys and other local companies have been implemented in over 100 factories of more than 50 major enterprises across the country.
In an effort to further promote the sector's smart upgrading, local authorities have introduced a variety of preferential policies for local companies. These include providing supporting facilities, issuing vouchers for purchasing related equipment, and offering subsidies at different stages.
With policy support and the momentum from the World Robot Conference over the past seven years, a new industrial pattern of smart manufacturing is emerging in Beijing E-Town. By 2025, it is estimated that the total scale of the area's robot and intelligent manufacturing industry cluster will exceed 100 billion yuan ($14.4 billion).
