The 1st Spring Sugar Festival lasting 17 days concluded on March 24, in Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan province, on the sideline of the 110th China Sugar and Wine Fair held from March 20 to 22.
The Spring Sugar Festival debuted through activities of exhibition-city integration, achieving 103 new consumption scenarios in catering, art, tourism and other fields within the 14 districts (county-level cities) and counties of Chengdu. A total of 248 consumption promotions were held, attracting 1,382 merchants and approx. 7.75 million citizens and tourists.
The spring fair achieved revenue of 10.25 billion yuan in the city's service industries, rising by 25.8% compared to last year, including direct revenue of 1.13 billion yuan in the exhibition industry and indirect revenue of 9.12 billion yuan in catering, accommodation, transportation, commerce, shopping, culture, entertainment, tourism and the other related service industries.
From March 8 to 22, the hotel booking volume in Chengdu reached 4.038 million, rising by 10.6% compared to the same period last year.
