About 744,900 tourists visited Jinniu district of Chengdu, Sichuan province, during the Mid-Autumn Day holiday from Sept. 15 to 17, driving the recovery of local tourism market.
The district had organized a series of cultural and sport activities during the three-day holiday to attract tourists. These activities featured traditional Chinese culture and local folk arts.
In addition, the district's library and other public cultural venues received about 5,000 visits during the holiday, a record high in recent years.
The district authorities paid special attention to ensuring public security, particularly at the popular tourist spots during the holiday, during the holiday with the inflow of large numbers of tourists. And their efforts paid off.
The district will make continuous efforts to boost a sustainable growth of its tourism industry in the future, and it is expected to welcome more tourists during the forthcoming National Day holiday from Oct. 1-7.
