The Chinese mainland reported two more deaths from A/H1N1 flu Monday in the central Henan and eastern Fujian provinces, authorities said.
An 18-year-old senior high school boy in Weishi County, Henan, died at the Huaihe Hospital under Henan University. He was hospitalized Saturday after week-long symptoms worsened and tested positive for the A/H1N1 flu Sunday, said the Henan Provincial Health Department.
He also had severe pneumonia, the department said.
Another death case, reported in the eastern Fujian Province, was a 55-year-old woman who was confirmed as an A/H1N1 flu patient on Oct. 13. Tests showed negative between Oct. 19 and Oct. 22 after the treatment.
But she died Monday after developing complications involving high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes mellitus, severe pneumonia, infective shock and acute respiratory distress syndrome, said the Fujian Provincial Health department.
The Ministry of Health said 30 people on the Chinese mainland had died of the A/H1N1 flu by Monday.
