According to a report released previously by the Department of Health's Center for Health Protection (CHP), the number of influenza A(H1N1) death cases in the city reached 41 as of November 25.
The death case reported on Wednesday involved a 54-year-old man. He presented with fever, cough and sore throat from November 17 and sought medical consultation on November 21, said the CHP.
As symptoms persisted, he sought medical consultation again on November 23. The patient passed away at home on November 25.
Postmortem specimens were tested positive for influenza A(H1N1) virus.
The CHP said the deceased had no recent travel history and his home contact was asymptomatic.
