Local authorities in Beijing Tuesday unveiled a plan to attract overseas talents to work in the city, promising to offer various preferential policies to them, Beijing Evening News reported.
The capital city has launched a "Haiju Project," offering 529 jobs to professionals from foreign countries. Among them, 215 are for senior overseas talents. These 215 positions are mainly in colleges and scientific institutions, state-owned enterprises, financial institutions etc.
All those 215 recruited will get a 1 million yuan ($146,627) bonus and enjoy preferential policies in border entry and exit procedures, medical care and children's school enrollment, the report said.
Beijing plans to introduce 1,000 overseas talents in five years, starting from 2009.
