Foreigners living in Beijing are being invited to give suggestions about the Chinese capital's international language environment to help local authorities better offer language services.
From February to June this year, foreigners in the city can log on to www.ebeijing.gov.cn or www.bjenglish.com.cn and fill in a language questionnaire, a spokesman with the Beijing Municipal Foreign Affairs Office said Friday.
The questionnaire, including 20 questions, asks foreigners to leave a comment on Beijing's foreign language services regarding different industries, such as in transport, hotel, restaurant, tourism, shopping, bank, post office and hospital, the spokesman said.
They are also asked to give suggestions about how Beijing can create a better international language environment, he said.
Such a survey is the first of its kind in Beijing and it will be held regularly every year in the future, he added.
