Jia Binhui, a 25-year-old man from southwest China's Yunnan Province, who was diagnosed with leukemia in March 2013, attempted to kill his cancerous cells by roasting himself over a fire, China Network Info News Television reported.
Jia could not afford a bone marrow transplant, which costs about 500,000 yuan (approximately US$80,541). After learning from medical experts that "high temperatures above 42 degrees Celsius will kill cancer cells," he decided to cure himself by roasting his naked body over a fire. To test the feasibility of his experiment, he took pictures of the whole process and posted them on his Sina Weibo account.
"After several days of roasting, I will go to the hospital to see if the cancer cells have been killed," he said.
