An open air balcony in a high-rise residence building in Chongqing has been converted illegally into a bedroom, local media reported.
The balcony is between the 21st and 22nd floors of the residential building in Huaibei District, Chongqing, and looks like it is hanging in the air. One of the nearby homeowners personally reconstructed it into an extra bedroom by using glass and steel.
The bedroom measures 6 square meters and is 66 meters above the earth. Internet users mocked it as the "most awesome illegal building in air" and worried about its safety. Some even asked, "who dares to sleep in it?"
Others also questioned the real estate developers’ choice to leave a balcony there when they designed the building in the first place.
There's no news yet whether any government departments are investigating or demanding the removal of the structure.
