Guizhou, a Culturally Advanced Province with Diverse Ethnic Features
Guizhou is home to diverse ethnic groups and cultures, and 18 ethnic groups such as Han, Miao, Bouyei, Dong and Tujia have lived here since ancient times. In recent years, Guizhou has been striving to become a culturally advanced province with diverse ethnic features, capitalizing on its rich historical and cultural resources related to the ethnic groups, revolutionary sites, the philosopher Wang Yangming, mountains, and remains of the Third Front Construction campaign.
The multi-ethnic province boasts rich and diverse cultures, as evidenced by fascinating ethnic costumes, various buildings exhibiting marvelous workmanship, as well as countless folk festivals. Examples include the Short Skirt of Miao that is dubbed the "Oriental Ballet Dress", the Bronze Drum Dance known as the "Oriental Disco", and Granary on Water known as the "Living Fossil of Architecture".
There are many festivals of ethnic minorities in Guizhou. Those celebrated on a larger scale include the eighth day of the fourth lunar month for the Miao and Bouyei people, the Miao Girls' Festival, the sixth day of the sixth lunar month for the Bouyei people, the Torch Festival of the Yi people, the Duan Festival of the Shui people, the King Pangu Festival of the Yao people, the Sama Festival of the Dong people, and the Miao New Year. These and many other ethnic celebrations in different times of a year have attracted numerous visitors across the world.

貴州是一個(gè)多民族聚居省份,其中,世居民族有漢族、苗族、布依族、侗族、土家族等18個(gè),民族文化多姿多彩。近年來,貴州依托歷史文化、民族文化、紅色文化、陽明文化、山地文化、“三線”文化等資源,建設(shè)多彩貴州民族特色文化強(qiáng)省。
貴州多民族發(fā)展歷史孕育了豐富多元的民族文化,各種服飾爭奇斗艷,不同建筑巧奪天工,多樣民俗節(jié)日數(shù)不勝數(shù)。例如,“東方芭蕾舞裙”短裙苗、“東方迪斯科”銅鼓舞、“建筑活化石”水上糧倉等。
貴州少數(shù)民族節(jié)日眾多,其中,規(guī)模較大的有苗族布依族“四月八”、苗族姊妹節(jié)、布依族“六月六”、彝族“火把節(jié)”、水族“端節(jié)”、瑤族“盤王節(jié)”、侗族“薩瑪節(jié)”以及苗年等。一年當(dāng)中隨時(shí)都有特色民族節(jié)日等待八方來客參與和感受。
