Thorium-based Molten Salt Reactor R&D
In 2011, the Chinese Academy of Sciences launched a strategic research project on a thorium-based molten salt reactor nuclear energy system to explore advanced nuclear fission solutions for the future. The implementation of this project has thus far led to the completion of conceptual designs of a 10 MWt solid-fueled molten salt experimental reactor and a 2 MWt liquid-fueled molten salt experimental reactor; the start of the engineering design of a 10 MWt solid-fueled molten salt experimental reactor; and the development of proof-of-principle prototypes of some key devices and engineering prototypes of other individual pieces of equipment. In January 2020, the construction of the 2 MWt liquid-fueled thorium-based molten salt experimental reactor started.
釷基熔鹽堆研發(fā)
2011年,中國科學(xué)院開展了“未來先進(jìn)核裂變能——釷基熔鹽堆核能系統(tǒng)”戰(zhàn)略性先導(dǎo)科技專項(xiàng)的工程研究。在相關(guān)研究中,完成了10MW固態(tài)燃料熔鹽實(shí)驗(yàn)堆和2MW液態(tài)燃料熔鹽實(shí)驗(yàn)堆的概念設(shè)計(jì),開始了10MW固態(tài)燃料熔鹽實(shí)驗(yàn)堆的工程設(shè)計(jì);研制了部分關(guān)鍵設(shè)備的原理樣機(jī)以及個(gè)別設(shè)備的工程樣機(jī)。2020年1月,2MWt液態(tài)燃料釷基熔鹽實(shí)驗(yàn)堆建設(shè)全面啟動。
