4 to 11           At the invitation of the CPC, a delegation from the New Azerbaijani Party led by Vice Chairman and Executive Secretary, Ali Ahmadov, visited China. Ismail Amat, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress, met with the delegation. 

 

4 to 14           At the invitation of the International Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, a delegation from the Communist Party of Great Britain, led by Robert Griffith, visited China.  

 

6                 During his visit to New Zealand, Premier Wen Jiabao, met the leader of the New Zealand National Party, Don Brash. Wen Jiabao applauded the efforts of the New Zealand National Party in promoting a friendly relationship with China over the past years. He also hoped to cooperate with all parties in New Zealand including the National Party to further enhance the relationship between China and New Zealand.

 

6 to 16           A CPC delegation led by He Yong, Secretary of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the CPC, visited India, Sri Lanka and the Maldives. Invitations had been extended by the Government of India, the Liberal Party of Sri Lanka and the Government of the Republic of the Maldives. In India, the delegation met with Minister of the Interior Shivraj Patil. In Sri Lanka, they met with President Mahinda Rajapaksa, with Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka and with Maithripala Sirisena, General Secretary of the Liberal Party. In the Maldives, they met with President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom.

 

8 to 17    A CPC delegation headed by Wang Lequan, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the CPC and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, visited Egypt, Syria and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Invitations had been extended by the Egyptian National Democratic Party, the Syrian Baath Arab Socialist Party and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran. In Egypt, the delegation met with President Hosni Mubarak, Chairman of the Egyptian National Democratic Party and with Mohammed Safuat El Sherif, General Secretary of the Egyptian National Democratic Party and President of the Consultative Council. In Syria, they met with President Bashar Assad, General Secretary of the Baath Arab Socialist Party. In the Islamic Republic of Iran, they met with First Vice President, Parviza Daudi.

 

12 to 15         At the invitation of the CPC, President Reinhard Buetikofer led a German Union 90/Green Party delegation on a visit to China. Liu Qi, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the CPC met with the delegation.

 

15 to 19         At the invitation of the CPC, a delegation from the Romanian Social Democratic Party led by Party Vice Chairman Ilie Sarbu, visited China. Luo Haocai, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met with the delegation. 

 

15 to 22         At the invitation of the International Affairs Department of the Korean Workers Party, a CPC delegation led by Liu Yupu, Deputy Secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the CPC, visited the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.  

 

15 to 23         At the invitation of the International Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, a delegation from the Lebanese Communist Party led by General Secretary Dr Khaled Hadadah visited China. 

 

16 to 23         At the invitation of the CPC, a delegation of the Sierra Leone People's Party led by National President, Alhaja U.N.S. Jah, visited China. Wang Gang, alternate member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the CPC met with the delegation.   

 

18 to 23         At the invitation of the CPC, a delegation from the European Parliament Left Alliance Party led by Party President, Francis Wurtz visited China. Wang Gang, alternate member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the CPC met with the delegation.  

 

18 to 25         The Central Committee of the CPC congratulated the Vietnamese Communist Party by telegram on the opening of its 10th National Congress. Hu Jintao also congratulated Nong Duc Manh on his success in the Central Committee elections for the post of General Secretary. 

 

18 to 25    At the invitation of the CPC, a delegation from the Greek Communist Party led by General Secretary, Aleka Papariga visited China. Luo Gan, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the CPC met with the delegation. Luo Gan pointed out that party-to-party communication had contributed significantly to Sino-Greek relations. He also expressed a willingness to further strengthen the relationship with all Greek parties including the Greek Communist Party.  

 

18 to 26 At the invitation of the International Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, a delegation from the Democratic Party of Pensioners of Slovenia led by General Secretary, Pavel Brglez visited China.

 

19 to 21         At the invitation of the International Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, a delegation from the German Christian Democratic Union (CDU) led by Andreas Schockenhoff, Vice President of the CDU in the German Bundestag, visited China.

 

20 to 27         At the invitation of the CPC, a delegation from the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party led by General Secretary S. Bayer visited China. Zeng Qinghong, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the CPC met with the delegation. Zeng Qinghong said that a stable and sound relationship between the two countries was essential for peace and stability. He stressed the importance of strengthening communications between the two parties so as to further promote friendly relations between the two states. Zeng also said that the CPC is willing to step up its exchanges with all political parties in Mongolia including the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party.
