China's State Disaster Relief Commission and the Civil Affairs Ministry have sent disaster relief teams to typhoon Koppu-hit southern Guangdong Province, said a notice on the Civil Affairs Ministry website Thursday.
As of 8 a.m. Thursday, the typhoon had left seven people and six missing, with about 115,000 people relocated. About 2,600 houses were toppled and 5,100 destroyed.
The typhoon, the 15th this year, has brought heavy rains to the province. Although it relieved the drought in north and east Guangdong, the rain was also causing disruption.
