The Chinese government on Friday initiated an emergency disaster relief response in Northwest China's Shaanxi province, where floods have killed 14 people since July 18.
The National Commission for Disaster Reduction and the Ministry of Civil Affairs have also sent work teams to help with disaster relief, according to a ministry statement.
More than 800,000 people have been affected by rainstorms that began last Thursday and 189,000 people have been relocated, the provincial civil affairs department of Shaanxi said.
One person is still missing, according to local authorities.
