Three people were killed during a rainstorm in east China's Jiangxi Province over the past five days, the provincial civil affairs department announced on Wednesday.
Two people were killed in a landslide at the entrance of a tunnel on the Daqing-Guangzhou expressway in Longnan County, another person was killed in another landslide in Ganzhou city, authorities said.
According to the flood control and drought relief headquarters of Jiangxi Province, the average precipitation in the province reached 67 millimeters, and topped 168 millimeters at the worst hit Ganzhou city.
A total of 3,976 people have been relocated in Ganzhou and Ji'an cities. About 4,400 hectares of crops were destroyed and 269 houses collapsed, according to the statistics of the department.
