China was ready to work with Vietnam to promote relations between the two militaries, said Defense Minister Liang Guanglie?in Beijing?on Sunday.
Liang, also state councilor, made the remarks when meeting with visiting chief of the General Staff of the Vietnamese People's Army Nguyen Khac Nghien.
Hailed the stable growth of bilateral relationship between China and Vietnam, Liang said the two nations enjoyed frequent high level visits, increasing mutual trust in politics, fruitful cooperation in economy and trade, and close consultation in international and regional affairs.
He said China would make joint efforts with Vietnam to expand exchanges and cooperation to advance the relations between the two countries and the two armed forces into a new level.
Liang applauded Vietnam's adherence to one-China policy.
The Vietnamese general staff chief said his country valued the relations with China. He hoped that this visit would help push forward the bilateral ties between the two nations and the two militaries.
