Thanks to the great leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Chinese people have reaped glorious achievements in the past thirty years of reform and open- up work, said a Vietnamese high-ranking communist party official?on Sunday.
In an exclusive interview with Xinhua, Truong Tan Sang, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee, and also permanent member of the Secretariat of the CPV Central Committee, hailed China's success in the reform and open-up cause, and highlighted the leadership of CPC during this process.
With the great leadership of CPC and wide participation of Chinese people, the reform and open-up cause, which suits the development trend of the times, saw enormous achievements in the past 30 years, said the official.
The achievements are visible in all aspects of Chinese society, constantly lifting China's status in the international arena, said Sang.
In the time of the current global economic crisis, China's development is especially important in regional economic stability and development, he said.
China's success is closely related to the acumen of Chinese party leaders revealed at different stages of the reform and opening-up process, said Sang. They have applied the important thoughts of Marxism-Leninism into China's national construction work.
Sang said CPC has fulfilled its duty as the governing party in the national construction cause of China. CPC members have been accumulating experiences during different stages of the reform and open-up process, and making breakthrough in theoretical innovation, so as to constantly improve the governing capacity of CPC.
CPC also attached great importance on anti-corruption work during this process, said Sang. CPC has established special agency to deal with anti-corruption work and gave severe punishment to corrupted party officials, no matter what position he or she holds in the party.
These measures played a positive role in purifying and strengthening the party. It also enhanced CPC's role as the leader of the cause of building socialism with Chinese characteristics in China, said Sang.
China's success story encourages developing countries like Vietnam, said Sang.Vietnam, who started the innovation cause ten years later than China, could borrow some experience from its neighbor in the national development, he said.
Vietnam and China have agreed to lift bilateral ties to comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, said Sang. It injected new impetus to the development of bilateral relations and cemented the foundation for bilateral exchanges and cooperation.
In face of the global economic crisis, Vietnam and China should enhance cooperation and explore complementarity and development potential of the two countries, so as to address the challenges together and ensure the stable and continuous economic development in the two countries, stressed Sang.
