China detects minor radiation from Japan
An extremely small amount of radioactive iodine-131 was detected in the atmosphere in northeast Heilongjiang Province, Xinhua reported. Test results confirm that the radiation is from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant in Japan, the National Nuclear Emergency Coordination Committee said Saturday.
The amount of radioactive materials is one-one-hundred-thousandth of normal levels, so no protective measures are needed.
