Can you do the Dadu on 15 bucks a day?
Adjust font size:

Editor's notes

That's thechallenge we've set our four young American interns. Their mission is to find out what Beijing's big capital city (theDadu) has to offer on just 100 yuan a day as the 30 day Olympic countdown begins. With a large latte in Starbuck's weighing in at a massive 26 yuan and a Big Mac punching a 13 yuan hole in their pockets, no-one said it was going to be easy for our caffeine-and-burger addicted reporters. Whether they get their fix or not, what other adventures will they come up with? Watch this space and send us your own suggestions.

A night of fine arts

For my 100 RMB a day I chose to go to a concert at the national Theater for the performing arts near Tian'anmen Square. The ticket cost 80 RMB, the subway there and back was 4 RMB(2 each way), and dinner was 10 RMB. This totaled 94 RMB...Full story
