Car rentals rise to get home for holidays |
Since getting a train ticket is so difficult, some travelers in Wuhan, in central China's Hubei province, have decided to rent a car to drive home.
Mr. Zhang has been working in Wuhan for three years.
It's a headache to buy a train ticket to get home to Changsha, Hunan Province. This year he's renting a car with three others. He says it's cheaper than a train ticket. The idea is also proving popular with many others, like college students.
They put up posters and leave messages on line to find people to share a rental car. They say it's a good way to save money and make new friends. Staff in the car rental agencies say business this Spring Festival is way up from previous years. Nearly every car in Wuhan has been booked.
