Chinese seafood safe despite radiation

After Japan dumped 9 thousand tons of nuclear waste into the sea, seafood safety has become a huge concern for not only its citizens, but those abroad as well. For example, how far has the contaminated water spread? Is it safe to eat seafood in China?

According to the current tastes of residents in Dalian, a Chinese coastal city close to Japan, there isn't much to worry about yet. There, sales of seafood are still booming. Merchants in the wholesale fish business say that this year's fishing season has not begun yet, so the seafood in the market has mostly been kept in farms or frozen, from last autumn and winter. And, more than that, they still have a 40 thousand tons in stock that they say can ensure supply until July.

Experts also say that ocean currents are taking contaminated water away from China, but that even if it did reach here, the radiation would be diluted enough.
