Some Americans are willing to work for much less than people from other countries, according to the results of an online experiment conducted by Newsweek.
The magazine used a website run by Amazon that acts as a marketplace for freelance work. The results show that no one in Italy, the Netherlands, or Egypt would accept less than US$5 for an hour of work. In Germany the lowest bid was US$3, in Australia and Britain US$2, and in Canada US$1.25. Americans accepted by far the lowest figure: just 25 cents.
The minimum wage in the U.S. is US$7.25 per hour. But given the current downturn, many Americans will work for a whole lot less.(點(diǎn)擊美國(guó)《新聞周刊》網(wǎng)站查看原文)
