The second edition of the Beijing International Film Festival officially kicked off on Monday evening, with an opening ceremony held at the National Convention Center, China.org.cn reported.

About 300 Chinese and international filmmakers, industry executives and movie stars, including Andy Lau, Zhang Ziyi, Tsui Hark, Feng Xiaogang, James Cameron and "The Avengers" star Jeremy Renner, walked the red carpet before the ceremony.

This year, the festival still doesn't give out awards to filmmakers, but is planning to do so next year, according to Li Qiankuan, Vice Chairman of the festival.

More than 260 films from across the globe, many of which have never been shown in theaters in China before, will be screened during the festival. The festival runs from April 23 to 28.

據(jù)中國網(wǎng)報(bào)道，周一，第二屆北京國際電影節(jié)在國家會(huì)議中心舉行了開幕式，由此正式拉開帷幕。

約300位國內(nèi)外電影工作者、業(yè)界高管、電影明星走上開幕紅毯，其中有劉德華、章子怡、徐克、馮小剛、詹姆士·卡梅隆、《復(fù)仇者聯(lián)盟》的男星杰瑞米·雷納等。

今年，電影節(jié)仍不會(huì)給電影工作者頒獎(jiǎng)，但據(jù)電影節(jié)副主席李前寬講，電影節(jié)計(jì)劃明年設(shè)獎(jiǎng)。

全世界260多部影片將在電影節(jié)期間展映，其中許多影片以前從未在國內(nèi)影院放映過。電影節(jié)從4月23日起持續(xù)到28日。
