The Hong Kong SAR government plans to reclaim the funds it donated to rebuild an earthquake-devastated school in Sichuan Province, after local authorities pulled down the school for a massive real estate project, Shanghai Daily reported.

The Hong Kong government and Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers donated HK$2 million each to Mianyang, a quake-hit city in the 2008 Sichuan earthquake. The federation said it has no plan to reclaim its donation.

But the Zijing Ethnic Minorities Middle School, which was rebuilt in 2010 for minority students from the Aba Prefecture, has been demolished to make room for a large-scale commercial housing project by a private developer.

Earlier media reports claimed that Dalian Wanda Commercial Properties Co. Ltd. has already started work on the project.

The People's Daily Online reported the city's intention was to rebuild the school with better facilities to an education park which will open in August next year.

據(jù)《上海日報(bào)》報(bào)道，香港特別行政區(qū)政府計(jì)劃收回捐贈(zèng)給四川地震災(zāi)區(qū)、用于重建學(xué)校的款項(xiàng)，原因是當(dāng)?shù)卣疄榇笮头康禺a(chǎn)項(xiàng)目讓位，已將該校拆除。

香港特區(qū)政府、香港教育工作者聯(lián)會曾分別向2008年四川地震中受災(zāi)的綿陽市捐贈(zèng)200萬港幣。后者表示不會收回捐贈(zèng)款。

綿陽紫荊民族中學(xué)于2010年建成，學(xué)生都是來自阿壩自治州的少數(shù)民族。目前學(xué)校已被拆除，讓位給私營開發(fā)商投資的大型商業(yè)住宅區(qū)。

早前媒體報(bào)道稱，大連萬達(dá)商業(yè)地產(chǎn)股份有限公司的這一項(xiàng)目已開始動(dòng)工。

據(jù)人民網(wǎng)報(bào)道，綿陽市的意圖是在明年8月落成的教育園區(qū)重建該校，并且設(shè)施將會更好。
