Spainish snowboard halfpipe rider Queralt Castellet was forced to walk out of the women's halfpipe final at the Vancouver Olympic Games due to injury in training on Friday.
Castellet, 20, finished the qualification round in third place and advanced to the 12-field final directly. But during a training run between the qualification round and the semifinal, the second time Olympian crashed and got injured.
"She fainted as she was brought to the closest hospital. Now she is almost OK. Still, she won't be competing in the final,"said Spanish coach Dani Fernandez.
The top six qualifiers in the qualification round entered the final directly and the seventh to 18th finishers need to fight for the remaining six final berths through a semifinal.
Castellet finished 26th at the Turin Games four years ago and ranked sixth at last year's World Championships.
