UEFA announced on Thursday that English official Howard Webb has been appointed to referee this season's Champions League final between Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.
Webb will be assisted by his compatriot Michael Mullarkey and
Darren Cann, with Martin Atkinson as the fourth official.
The 38-year-old Webb first took up refereeing in local Rotherham leagues in 1989, and was appointed as a FIFA official in 2005. Being a former police officer, Webb has refereed 19 Champions League matches in total, including six this season.
It is the first time for Webb to referee a Champions League final as an English club has featured in the final for each of the past five seasons.
The clash between Bayern Munich and Inter Milan will be held in Madrid's Bernabeu Stadium on Saturday.
