Soccer textbooks compiled for teenagers. |
Guangzhou Evergrande's victory in the 2013 AFC Champions League may have been what inspired Chinese sports educators to promote soccer by compiling textbooks for teenagers.
The compilation, organized by People's Education Press, one of the largest textbook publishers in China, has involved over 30 sports experts, teachers and researchers, whose work is scheduled to be published before the end of this month, Beijing Youth Daily reported today.
The book's seven volumes consist of three dimensional photos illustrating rules and tactics on the pitch. They are aimed at students and teachers in primary and middle school. The two dimensional barcode in each chapter of the books will enable the readers to watch an accompanying video on their mobile devices.
"Soccer is a game for aspiration, perspiration and teamwork," said Chen Keqi, director of the Sports Office of the People's Education Press.
"By playing soccer, students can improve their sense of resilience, persistence and responsibility."
