In the mixed doubles, Jiang Zhenbang and Wei Yaxin shocked the world No. 1 compatriots Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong 21-16, 21-17 in just 32 minutes, while Feng Yanzhe and Huang Dongping overwhelmed Hiroki Midorikawa and Natsu Saito of Japan 21-10, 21-15 in 33 minutes.
In the women's doubles, Olympic silver medalists Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan came from behind to beat Japanese pair Rin Iwanaga and Kie Nakanishi 15-21, 21-9, 21-7, while Zhang Shuxian and Zheng Yu sailed past Hu Ling Fang and Lin Xiao Min of Chinese Taipei 21-12, 22-20 within 33 minutes.
In the women's singles, reigning Olympic champion Chen Yufei outperformed compatriot Wang Zhiyi 10-21, 25-23, 21-12, while Zhang Yiman lost to Tai Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei in straight sets.
Chinese men's singles shuttler Shi Yuqi outpaced compatriot Lu Guangzu 21-7, 13-21, 21-18.
Chinese second-seeded men's doubles pair Liang Weikeng and Wang Chang easily defeated South Korean duo Kim Young-hyuk and Wang Chan 21-11, 21-10 in just 23 minutes.
The South Korea Open, which kicked off on Tuesday, will run until Sunday at Jinnam Stadium.
