The Guangzhou Loong Lions overpowered the Jiangsu Dragons 104-77 at home on Saturday night for their fifth win in the 2023-24 Chinese Basketball Association league season.
Guangzhou started strongly, nursing a 29-21 lead in the first quarter and maintaining their momentum 51-45 at halftime, despite Alpha Kaba scoring 12 for Jiangsu.
In the third quarter, Cui Yongxi and Zhu Mingzhen rained down three-pointers to widen the gap, establishing a double-digit lead at 72-53.
The final quarter was a mere formality as the hosts achieved an overwhelming victory.
Cui scored a game-high 23 points for Guangzhou, and Zhu added 14 points. For Jiangsu, new signing Jalen Riley had a team-high 15 points, and Kaba added 12 points and 11 rebounds.
