Zhejiang Lions smashed Liaoning Flying Leopards 100-74 to end the visiting team's 11-game winning streak in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) League on Wednesday.
Zhejiang Lions opened a 5-point lead over the defending champions in the first quarter in the match, and enlarged the gap to 18 points before the break. Cameron Oliver scored seven points to help Zhejiang make a 21-13 run in the third quarter. Li Xiaoxu grabbed nine points for Liaoning in the last quarter, but cannot retrieve the defeat.
Sun Minghui scored 26 points, six rebounds and 11 assists for Zhejiang, while Liaoning's Li Xiaoxu managed 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Elsewhere, the Beijing Royal Fighters suffered a four-game skid, losing to the Guangdong Southern Tigers by a margin of one point. The score see-sawed between Beijing and Guangdong, and neither team could extend the gap to more than five points through the first three quarters. Tremont Waters tied the game 105-105 with a free throw and scraped by with a 107-106 victory with a last-second layup.
In the other matches on Wednesday, the Xinjiang Flying Tigers crushed the Sichuan Blue Whales 117-85 and the Guangzhou Loong Lions downed the Ningbo Rockets 99-80.
