According to FIBA official website, China, Mongolia, Guam and Japan are in Group C of the qualifying tournament.
Mongolia, who was beaten by China 89-50 at Hangzhou Asian Games, will meet the host in the group opener at the Shaanxi Provincial Gymnasium.
The top two from each group, 12 teams altogether, will qualify for the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 directly. The six third-placed teams will have playoffs to decide the last four berths.
The Chinese men's national basketball team only pocketed a bronze medal at the Hangzhou Asian Games this autumn, after finishing 29th at FIBA World Cup 2023 and failing to qualify for the Paris Olympics.
In the FIBA Asia Cup 2022, China, the 16-time winner, finished 8th.
The FIBA Asia Cup 2025 will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
