Sun Minghui posted a season-high 40 points and 14 assists to help the Zhejiang Lions overturn Shanghai Sharks 124-120 in overtime in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) League on Monday night.
Shanghai led by eight points before the break, and once enlarged the advantage to 13 points in the fourth quarter. But the visiting team's two three pointers from Sun and Zhao Yanhao dragged the game into overtime.
Sun broke the seesawed deadlock for Zhejiang with a three-pointer with 29 seconds left, before Jahlil Okafor further consolidated the advantage with two free throws to grab the third straight win for Zhejiang.
Although Shanghai's Dwayne Bacon managed 37 points, Wang Zhelin contributed 33 points and 15 rebounds, the hosts failed to catch up before the buzzer.
Elsewhere, seven Guangdong players posted double-digit points as the Guangdong Southern Tigers crushed the Shenzhen Aviators 120-93.
In other matches on Monday, the Qingdao Eagles thrashed the Fujian Sturgeons 104-73, while the Beijing Royal Fighters downed the Ningbo Rockets 98-96.
