Six players scored in double digits as the Zhejiang Golden Bulls used a late rally to clinch a hard-fought 99-96 victory over the Guangzhou Loong Lions in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) League on Monday.
Trailing 91-96 with 1:38 remaining, Zhejiang scored the next eight points and escaped with a win as Guangzhou guard Jia Mingru's potential game-tying 3-pointer rimmed out.
Reginald Perry collected 19 points for Zhejiang, with Cheng Shuaipeng and Wu Qian adding 17 points apiece.
Zhejiang raced into a 15-9 lead to start the match, and Lin Xiaotian's three-pointer at the buzzer helped Zhejiang establish a 57-46 advantage at halftime.
Despite Dallas Moore's consecutive 3-pointers steering Guangzhou back into contention in the second half, Jarmar Gulley and Wang Zilu steadied Zhejiang in the closing stages.
Moore led the scorers with 32 points, followed by Li Yanzhe's 16 and Jia's 12.
Elsewhere, six players posted double-digit points as the Shanghai Sharks defeated the Fujian Sturgeons 97-88.
The match was closely contested in the first three quarters, before Shanghai rode on a 22-6 scoring run in the final quarter to pull away.
In Monday's other games, the Nanjing Monkey Kings overwhelmed the Beijing Ducks 118-85, the Shandong Heroes notched an 89-86 win against the Jiangsu Dragons, the Qingdao Eagles upset the Shenzhen Aviators 110-105, and the Tianjin Pioneers downed the Shanxi Loongs 130-119.
