Fifteen athletes from Brunei are set to compete in the 23rd MILO International Open Karate Championship 2024 in Malaysia, local media reported on Monday.
A flag handover ceremony was held on Sunday, and Wakodai Karate Brunei Darussalam (WKBD) President Haji Malai Jeffry handed over the flag to Md Faris Fakhrullah, who will serve as the leader of the athletes, according to the local daily Borneo Bulletin.
The team, accompanied by four coaches, will also be joined by other local karate clubs and will take part in the kumite event. The athletes have received training from national coaches as part of their preparations, aiming to attain numerous medals and elevate the image of the country.
