Chinese gold medalist Fan Zhendong received special congratulations after winning the gold medal in the individual table tennis tournament at the Paris Olympic Games on Sunday.

After defeating Truls Moregard 4-1, Fan's celebration mirrored that of Real Madrid and England midfielder, Jude Bellingham, with his arms open towards the stands in triumph.

No surprise to discover that Fan is a Real Madrid fan. Indeed he posted a celebration photo on social media of him wearing a Real Madrid shirt.

The European champions responded with their own message on their Weibo site, congratulating the table-tennis star for his medal.

"Congratulations on winning the individual table-tennis at the Paris 2024 Olympics and claiming a Grand Slam. We are proud of your fighting spirit," commented the post from Real Madrid.
