Bayern Munich regained top spot in the Bundesliga after a 5-0 win over bottom side Bochum on Sunday.
The Bavarians set the tone from the opening whistle, but struggled initially to create clear-cut opportunities due to Bochum's well-organized defense.
Bochum almost caught the visitors off guard when Moritz Broschinski tipped the ball past goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, but failed to beat defender Kim Min-jae, who cleared the ball off the line in the eighth minute.
The opening goal came eight minutes later at the other end of the pitch when Michael Olise curled an 18-meter free kick over the wall and into the far right-hand corner.
Bochum refused to give up and went close through Broschinski and Erhan Masovic, while Maximilian Wittek committed another foul near the edge of their own box.
Bayern took advantage of the resulting free kick to double their lead when Joshua Kimmich's cross found Jamal Musiala, who slotted home from close range in the 26th minute.
The halftime lead could have been bigger, but Harry Kane and Musiala lacked precision in the closing stages of the first 45 minutes.
The German record champions picked up where they left off after the break as Musiala danced through the Bochum area before passing to Kane, whose well-placed shot from 15 meters tripled the lead in the 57th minute.
Bayern continued their onslaught, with substitute Leroy Sane drilling a powerful shot into the far corner of the net from 18 meters out eight minutes later.
Kingsley Coman showed no mercy, finishing off a solo run in the 71st minute to put the win beyond doubt.
The win sees Bayern leapfrog Leipzig into first place, while Bochum remain bottom of the table.
"Five goals are obviously good for us. We have lost here twice in the last three years, so we are really happy with the result. It is not perfect yet, but we are getting better and better," said Bayern coach Vincent Kompany.
In Sunday's other matches, Benedict Hollerbach's second-half equalizer earned Union Berlin a 1-1 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt, lifting the capital club into the top four. Heidenheim and Hoffenheim played out a goalless stalemate.
