Qingdao Eagles promising center Yang Hansen and Xinjiang Flying Tigers guard Quentin Peterson were named Players of the Week in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Monday.

19-year-old Yang averaged 18.7 points, nine rebounds, 1.7 blocks, and an impressive 5.3 assists in 37 minutes of playing time each game last week, shooting 71.9% from the floor and leading Qingdao to two wins from three matches. He shot 12 of 13 from the field to contribute 29 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and three blocks in Qingdao's 121-109 victory over the Shenzhen Leopards on October 31.
Peterson stood out from overseas players with an average of 28.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and three assists, nailing five 3-pointers per game with a 50% shooting percentage. In Xinjiang's 117-97 win against the Tianjin Pioneers on Nov. 1, the 30-year-old combo guard shot 15 of 22 to score 48 points in 26 minutes. Xinjiang won all three matches over the past week and ranked second in the standings with an 8-2 record.
As the first stage concluded on Sunday after 10 rounds of matches, the 2024-25 CBA league regular season is halted due to an international break. Chinese internationals gather for a training camp from Nov. 4 to 20 for the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers, while the group stage of the inaugural CBA Club Cup will take place from Nov. 12 to 17.
