South Korea's Pohang Steelers defeated China's Shandong Taishan 4-2 at home in the 2024-25 AFC Champions League Elite on Wednesday.
The match saw its first goal in the 30th minute, as Pohang's Jeong Jae-hee scored from a free kick. However, Shandong Taishan quickly responded in the 33rd minute, Chen Pu redirected the ball with his chest near the goal, leveling the score at 1-1.
Pohang regained lead in the second half. In the 64th minute, Jorge Luiz struck from outside the penalty area, slipping the ball past goalkeeper Wang Dalei. Just four minutes later, Luiz's teammate Wanderson added another goal, extending Pohang's lead to 3-1.
In the 76th minute, Oberdan netted a fourth goal for Pohang Steelers. Shandong Taishan managed to score in injury time when Zeca's header found Bi Jinhao, who converted it to settle the game with 4-2.
