Shandong Taishan head coach Choi Kang-hee said he has confidence in his side to deliver an impressive performance in the upcoming Chinese FA Cup final against Shanghai Port.
The South Korean believed the fact that Shandong Taishan on both home and away occasions lost to the eventual champion Shanghai Port in the Chinese Super League (CSL) campaign of this season will count little in Saturday's Chinese FA Cup final.
"Tomorrow's match is a one-off, and the previous records between the two teams are not important for this game," he said.
"What we need to do is to suppress the opponent's strengths, curb their characteristics, and play to our own. We will not allow ourselves to be affected by the results of any previous matches."
"We will play an impressive game," he added.
Shandong Taishan, which finished fifth in the CSL this season, can gain automatic qualification for next season's AFC Champions League provided that it wins the Chinese FA Cup on Saturday.
