Shanghai Shenhua head coach Leonid Slutskiy said on Tuesday that his side can cope with the upcoming AFC Champions League clash with Gwangju FC in the absence of three key players.
Slutskiy will have to manage the match, to be held on Wednesday, without defender Ibrahim Amadou, Jiang Shenglong and midfielder Fei Nanduo. According to a statement released by Shanghai Shenhua on Monday, the three players did not travel to Gwangju with the Shanghai side as they are nursing injuries picked up at previous matches.
The Russian said that he had been forced to make some adjustments to his tactics as a result, and he had confidence in his players available.
"Though my team has been affected by some injuries, I believe we still have the players capable enough to cope with tomorrow's game," he said.
"We will try to fine-tune our tactics in order to deliver an impressive play," he said.
"As the Chinese domestic season has already finished, we can focus all our attention on the AFC Champions League. I think we will have a close match tomorrow," he added.
