Chinese Super League (CSL) club Chengdu Rongcheng announced on Tuesday that its midfielder Mutellip Iminqari picked up an ankle injury when he played in an U-21 match.
The 20-year-old suffered ligament damage in his right ankle after being tackled by an opposition player in the game on Sunday, the Chengdu club said in a statement.
Mutellip faces an layoff of two to three weeks, the Chengdu side added.
Since the 2024 CSL campaign concluded in early November, Mutellip had been playing with the Chengdu U-21 side for the past month.
